WHO WE ARE

Torwood Leadership is a youth-driven initiative established in Klerksdorp, South Africa, with roots in climate activism and community mobilization. It was created to demonstrate the capacity of African youth to lead transformative movements and reshape narratives around leadership and development. The initiative has grown beyond the climate space to focus on equipping emerging leaders with the tools to address Africa’s most pressing challenges—including poverty, inequality, corruption, and the climate crisis. Grounded in community-based action, Torwood Leadership supports young changemakers in driving solutions that begin at the local level and scale toward broader impact.
